The woman, who can't be identified, has alleged the assistant sub-inspector filmed the sex attack and made threats so she wouldn't tell anyone, it is reported.

The alleged attacker has now been arrested, according to English-language newspaper .

The woman from Uch Sharif claims she went to the police station in Ahmedpur to report being gang-raped by two men.

She says an officer summoned her on February 12, 2019, to record a witness statement for the case, when he reportedly took her to a house to attack her.

SEXUAL VIOLENCE CRISIS

Pakistan is under pressure to crack down on sexual violence as more crimes are reported.

In November an unconscious woman was reportedly "raped for hours by staff while undergoing a haemorrhoids operation at Pakistan hospital".

The 35-year-old woman complained after she started suffering pain and was bleeding from her urinary tract during her stay at Services Hospital in Lahore.

And in March 2018, a Pakistani family allegedly let off their daughter's rapist after a sick trade let the victim's brother do the same to her attacker's sister.

The twisted case of “revenge rape” involving two families was uncovered by cops in Pakistan.

One man had been accused of raping a woman in Pir Mahal in the Toba Tek Singh district of Punjab province, on March 20.

The suspect's family had approached the victim's family for “pardon and reconciliation”, according to local news reports.
