Driver causes severe train delays after abandoning his car on tracks in Essex
The Ford Fiesta was dumped between Tilbury and Stanford-le-Hope
A MOTORIST caused serious train delays yesterday after abandoning his car on railway lines.
The driver allegedly tried to tell police they were the victim of a robbery after driving on to the rails instead of across a level crossing.
The Ford Fiesta was spotted abandoned between Tilbury and Stanford-le-Hope, Essex, yesterday morning.
British Transport Police officers were called to remove the car after it brought services to a halt on the C2C line.
