Leytonstone stabbing leaves two men fighting for their lives after knife attack near Tube station in East London

TWO men are currently fighting for their lives after they were stabbed close to Leytonstone tube station in East London.

Cops were called at 7.50pm this evening to the High Road after receiving reports of two men fighting.

A man in his 20s was found suffering from stab wounds at the scene.

He was then rushed to hospital.

Shortly after the cops were told of another man who had gone to another East London hospital who was also suffering from stab wounds.

Both men have life-threatening injuries.

The Met Police is currently trying to establish if the two stabbings are connected.

So far no arrests have been made but enquiries are ongoing.

Police in Birmingham have launched a murder investigation after an 18-year-old youth was stabbed to death in Harborne, south-west Birmingham.

The latest stabbings come after four people were stabbed in just seven hours across the capital yesterday as the authorities appear to be no closer to getting a grip on the problem of Lawless London.

Police were scrambled to attacks across the capital - West Drayton, Harlesden, Wembley and Merton - between 3pm and 10pm yesterday.

Tragically, the police confirmed this morning a 21-year-man had died from his injuries after a gang attacked him in North West London.

Seven men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of offences including possession of an offensive weapon and attempted murder. They remain in custody.

The attack came barely an hour before another man was badly injured when he was stabbed in Morden Road, Merton, at 10pm.

Earlier that night, a 28-year-old was found suffering from stab wounds following a fight outside a Tesco in Wembley at 6.30pm.

He was rushed to hospital and cops have said his condition is being treated as "life-threatening".

At 3pm earlier in the day, a man was found with stab injuries 13 miles away in West Drayton.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The latest string of stabbings come after a man was left with "life-threatening" stab wounds after being slashed near Brick Lane on Saturday.

Jaden Moodie, 14, was stabbed to death by attackers after he was knocked off a moped close to the Leytonstone High Road in Bickley Road in early January this year.

Figures from London's Metropolitan police showed that knife crime surged by 16 per cent in the capital year-on-year in 2018, as Britain's crime epidemic continues.

There were 1,299 stabbings in London up to the end of April, according to official statistics from the Met Police.

In 2017-18, there were 137 knife offences for every 100,000 people in the capital.
