‘Bizarre’ White House birthday tribute to Melania Trump inspires hilarious memes
THE rather unusual photo of Melania Trump on her birthday which was picked by White House staff has sparked a series hilarious memes.
The First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS) turned 49 and was pictured sitting alone on a settee in a green coat with a rather odd expression on her face.

While she was sitting down the members of the US team were shown gathering around but seemingly not focusing on her but something out of view.
It was far from the more typical happy, smiley, family photos that usually mark a happy occasion like a birthday.
Instead Mrs Trump looks very much alone and isolated and neither her husband Donald Trump or her son are seen anywhere.
The photo wasn’t actually taken on her birthday but in March when the US President met with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis.
The White House Twitter message marking Melania’s big day simply said: “Happy Birthday, @FLOTUS!”
The rather puzzling photo though sparked some hilarious memes and comments that were posted on social media.
'HAPPY BIRTHDAY FLOTUS!'
One Twitter user wanted to know why the unusual photo had been taken, writing: “Why would you pick this photo?”
Another commented: “All alone and p****d off. Lovely photo to choose of your wife on her birthday.”
A third said: “Melania Trump sitting alone while every single person in the room ignores her in favour of someone else... and that's the photo the White House goes with. This is what is meant by ‘A picture speaks a thousand words’.”
Jokers couldn’t resist poking a bit of light-hearted fun at Melania.
One mocked up Melania onto a frame from the tile sequence of the US sitcom Friends with the First Lady sitting all alone on the sofa.
Another photoshopped Jeff Bridges’ character The Dude from The Big Lebowski along with Forest Gump into the picture.
Many Twitter users opted for including Kellyanne Conway, a counsellor to the President, who came under fire when she was photographed sitting on a sofa in the Oval Office with her legs folded underneath her and her shoes pressed against the upholstery.

A particularly cheeky one had the Russian leader Vladimir Putin cuddling up to the First Lady and perhaps reflected on the recent investigation conducted by Robert Mueller into possible efforts by Russia to meddle in the 2016 US presidential election.
One mocked up Donald Trump slopping out in a white t-shirt next to her while tucking into a takeaway pizza.
Even Hollywood star Keanu Reeves looking downcast ‘joined’ her on the settee.
