Mum and baby killed in Israel air strikes after Gaza militants fire 200 rockets as truce ends in bloodshed
Three Israeli civilians were killed in the attack, which followed a brief ceasefire for the Israeli elections
A MUM and a baby have died in a barrage of Israeli air strikes after Gaza militants blasted 200 rockets over the border.
Three Israeli civilians were killed in the attack, which followed a brief ceasefire for the Israeli elections.
Officials in Gaza claim the rockets took three civilian lives, including a mother and her 14-month-old daughter.
An IDF spokesman said the attacks began at 10am and continued long into the night.
Several homes in Israel were hit by the fire, with residents rushing to bomb shelter.
Israel's cutting-edge Iron Dome missile defence system shot down dozens of rockets.
The violence began during a protest in Gaza against Israel's blockade - which they claim is to stop weapons reaching Palestine.
Two Israeli soldiers were shot at the border fence, but not mortally wounded.
