MEGHAN Markle is said to be “incredibly relaxed” about giving birth even though she is thought to be a week overdue.
The Duchess of Sussex, 37, is currently at home at Frogmore Cottage, Windsor, with Prince Harry and her mum Doria Ragland by her side.
Close friends are also thought to be keeping her company, including US TV anchor Gayle King.
Meghan is thought to want a natural home birth but the Duchess may have to be taken to hospital for an induced labour as she could now be at least a week overdue.
Despite those worries the Duchess is said to be “incredibly relaxed and positive” over the imminent birth.
Kensington Palace declined to comment when contacted by The Sun Online.
It’s believed Meghan has appointed her own team to oversee the birth, led by a female doctor, rather than Royal Household gynaecologists Alan Farthing and Guy Thorpe-Beeston.
The Sun on Sunday revealed yesterday that the royal couple want to find a home in California following the birth of their first child.
Friends of the former Hollywood actress claimed she'll look for a place near where she grew up in Los Angeles.
A source revealed: “Meghan definitely wants a place in Los Angeles — she loves the city, the lifestyle and climate.
“Ultimately, she is a California girl and can breathe easier there. Hollywood is in her DNA and I think it is where she has always wanted to keep a solid footing.
“Spending time there would also allow her some freedom and independence from both the Palace and the Press — and more control over her life and the people around her.
An induced labour is one that's started artificially.
It's fairly common. Every year, one in five labours are induced in the UK.
If you're being induced, you'll go into the hospital maternity unit.
Contractions can be started by inserting a tablet (pessary) or gel into the vagina.
If you have a vaginal tablet or gel, you may be allowed to go home while you wait for it to work.
“She is a duchess in the UK, but could be a queen in LA.”
Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, moved from Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, Berks, last month. They were said to be relaxing there yesterday with Doria, 62, while they wait for the birth of their baby — now a week overdue.
Previous reports had suggested that Meghan and Harry will move to southern Africa for a while after the birth.
There were also claims that Doria would move to the UK to live with the couple.
But she is now thought to be staying in LA, so the duchess is eager to secure a place nearby.
Our source added: “Meghan is very close to her mother and will want to be able to share quality time with her in her home town.
“She also has friends in LA with babies and will want to have that interaction and bring up her child in a less restrictive environment — similar to how she grew up.”
Any move for Meghan is not likely be immediately after the birth of the royal baby but when the family becomes more settled.
Another source said: “They’re not looking to buy anywhere just yet as they’ve only just finished the renovations on Frogmore Cottage.
“But they’re definitely eyeing up a place in California.”
