New royal baby name could be revealed TODAY with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to show off Baby Sussex to the world
Meghan Markle gave birth to Baby Sussex at 5.26am on Monday, with the new parents saying they wanted to celebrate privately
MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry will today introduce Baby Sussex to the world - and have insisted a US broadcaster be there to cover the news.
Royal watchers will get their first glimpse of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's baby boy this afternoon after Meghan gave birth on Monday morning.
It is hoped the pair will also reveal the name of their son today - with bookies tipping Alexander and Spencer to be a favourite.
The couple were expected to welcome a small contingent of the British media to share a photograph of their newborn this afternoon - but the inclusion of American network CBS at the request of the new parents is a surprise to most.
The US network's morning show is fronted by Gayle King - a close friend of both Meghan Markle who even attended her New York baby shower.
It was reported the move was made to reflect the "international interest" in the story - but has been seen as a "slap in the face" to other broadcasters including those from around the Commonwealth.

The Queen - who was the first to be told of Baby Sussex's birth - is expected to meet her new great-grandson today.
Prince Harry, 34, himself had confirmed the news he would be introducing his baby boy to the world today after announcing Meghan, 37, had given birth.
A beaming Harry said: "It's been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.
"How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension. But we're both absolutely thrilled.
"We're both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there, it's been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody."
He added: "I think we’ll be seeing you guys in two days as planned, as a family, to be able to share it with you guys so everyone can see the baby."
It is understood Buckingham Palace was not part of the decision to choose CBS.
A palace aide said: "There is an international cameraman accredited to the pool facility tomorrow. CBS will provide the cameraman.
"This reflects the international interest in the story. The international camera spot was self-selected and the pictures will be available for pool use."

Meghan had initially hoped to give birth at the couple's newly renovated home of Frogmore Cottage.
However, the new parents were forced to make a secret hospital dash to give birth to their 7lb 3oz baby boy at 5.26am.
Sources said the operation to get Meghan - who was a week overdue - to the clinic was so secret that even senior royals weren’t told.
And the Royal Family yesterday all revealed their excitement at the newest addition.
Prince William and Kate Middleton yesterday said they were "thrilled" at the news - with big brother William happy to welcome Harry to the "sleep deprivation society".
Asked if he had any pearls of wisdom for Harry, dad-of-three William laughed and said: “Plenty of advice, plenty of advice.
'World-class' birthing unit
The Duchess of Sussex may have planned a home birth but London's exclusive Portland Hospital was a savvy back-up option.
Meghan was following in the footsteps of pal Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell and Fergie, Duchess of York, in giving birth at the Regents Park unit, where a basic delivery costs upwards of £15,000.
Harry will have been pleased to hear that partners are able to stay overnight with breakfast ‘at no extra charge’ – though it sounds like the new parents dashed back to Frogmore House as soon as they could.
It’s not clear the Duchess would have been there long enough to enjoy it, but new mums are promised hotel-style treatment – with an en-suite bathroom, air con and high-quality meals all thrown into the pricey plan.
Meanwhile, grandfather Prince Charles joked he was collecting a "rather large number" of grandchildren.
The 70-year-old was gifted a teddy bear and blue balloon as he arrived in Germany with wife Camilla yesterday.
The Prince of Wales said he was absolutely “delighted”.
The Queen, who was the first to be told of Baby Sussex's arrival, also revealed her pleasure at welcoming her eighth great-grandchild.
The 93-year-old monarch smiled as she was congratulated on the newest member of the Royal Family.
She was yesterday joined by husband Prince Philip - a rare appearance for the Duke of Edinburgh since he retired from public life and his first since being involved in a car crash in January.
