It was later discovered Scarlett was suffering from Acute Bronchospasm, which is linked to asthma and causes the airways to narrow.
The girl, who loves gymnastics and learning, first began feeling ill on May 9 and complained of having a sore throat.
Claire Langton, her mum, said she didn’t think anything of it because Scarlett has allergies such as hay fever.
As the day progressed, Scarlett struggled to breath and her mum noticed she was using her inhaler an “awful lot” when she picked her up from school.
The 39-year-old noticed Scarlett’s condition get worse after taking her sister Ebony, 9, to get her youngest daughter Amber, 3, from nursery.
Claire told MEN: “She was in a state of panic. (The inhaler) didn't seem to be working.”
'IT WAS SO DRAMATIC' Scarlett then collapsed outside the health centre before saying to her mum “don’t let me die” as she turned a blue, grey colour.
She added: “I picked her up and grabbed her with my arms.
“It looked to me like she'd died. Everyone was crying and shouting. I can't say whether she was breathing, but she had no pulse.
“It was so dramatic, in the space of minutes.”
Medics rushed outside with a defibrillator, which gave instructions to not give a shock.
Miraculously, Scarlett’s pulse came back and regained consciousness.
She was then taken in an ambulance to Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Scarlett was later released on May 11.
