Nigel Farage milkshake attacker is a fanatical Remainer and Corbyn fan

A MAN who threw a £5.25 banana and salted caramel milkshake over Nigel Farage can today be revealed as a Jeremy Corbyn supporter and fanatical Remainer.

Paul Crowther's social media feeds contain streams of anti-Tory and anti-Brexit material, sometimes posting several times in a day about politics.

In the 2017 election he updated his profile picture to one urging his friends to vote for the Labour party.

The Game of Thrones fan, who also brews his own fancy craft beer, posted pictures on Facebook and Twitter of the milkshake before the attack in Newcastle at lunchtime today.

He wrote with a snap of his posh Five Guys dessert: "When you're walking back to the office with your milkshake and you bump into a Brexit Party march..."

And he added on Twitter: "I f**king did it, it was Farage. I can't believe I did it."

Police said today that a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault.

Mr Farage, who was campaigning for the European elections as part of a UK-wide tour today, was furious, and whisked off by his security detail.

Mr Crowther's social media also show him to be a Labour Party supporter, and supporter of a second Brexit referendum.

And he even seemed to have taken inspiration for the milkshake attack from an earlier dessert smattering on Ukip hopeful, Carl Benjamin - as he shared an article about it.

He also tweeted: "If I ever support a politician who has openly said he would rape another politician, please consider throwing milkshake at him fair game.

"Fascist, misogynist areseholes deserve all the dairy based products that come sailing their way."

Mr Crowther said today he threw the shake to protest against Mr Farage's "bile and racism".

He said: "I didn't know he was in town, I thought this is my only chance."

Of his milkshake, he ruefully said: "I was quite looking forward to it, but I think it went on a better purpose."

He declined to say what he did for a living, but his Facebook account claims he is a customer services representative at Sky and a manager at 'The Mad Brewery'.

He previously wrote online: "When, exactly, was Farage a 'nice guy'?"

And on the idea of not leaving the EU at all, he said: "Cool, let's do that then."

The social media accounts also show him to have shared articles promoting another Brexit referendum.

He's also liked a pro-Remain Facebook page called 'Newcastle for Europe'.

And he wrote of several examples of politicians overturning democratic votes in the past.

And he wrote of Labour MPs who voted against stopping a No Deal Brexit: "The following 14 Labour MPs can get the f**k out of the party for voting against the Cooper amendment."

Of Labour Brexiteer Kate Hoey he said: "I wish that Kate Hoey would f**k off and join the Tories already."

Mr Crowther said he had thrown liquid on the politician but said he did not regret his actions.

Last week police were alleged to have told a McDonalds near a Brexit Party rally to stop selling milkshakes and ice cream, after a spate of similar attacks in recent weeks.
