Boris Johnson could marry lover Carrie Symonds to become first PM to wed in office in 250 years

BORIS Johnson could become the first Prime Minster to wed while serving in Downing Street for 250 years.

The twice-married MP, 54, is reportedly planning to marry his PR guru girlfriend Carrie Symonds, 30.

Ex-Foreign Secretary BoJo is currently the front-runner to win the Tory leadership contest in July.

Carrie, 30, has been at his side in recent months and attended a speech he delivered at the JCB head office in Staffordshire in January.

He announced his divorce from Marina Wheeler in September, which is set to be finalised in the coming weeks, according to reports.

A source told the : "There have been lots of emotional conversations and dinners with each of their four grown-up children.

"He has told them he wants do the right thing.

"Marina will walk away with a handsome deal. He is now hoping the divorce will go through in the next six weeks."

The last sitting PM to wed was Augustus FitzRoy, the third Duke of Grafton.

 has been spending increasing amounts of time with Carrie since moving out of the family home in North London following his split with Marina, mother of his four grown-up children Lara, 25, Milo, 23, Cassia, 21 and Theodore, 19.

He is understood to be buying a £2million apartment near Whitehall. Boris plans to move Carrie in with him later this year.

In September 2018, The Sun exclusively revealed that Boris and Marina had split after she accused the former Foreign Secretary and leading Brexiteer of cheating on her.

In a joint statement, the pair said they separated "some time ago" and are now in the process of divorcing.

It also said that "as friends we will continue to support our four children in the years ahead."

Boris' first marriage was to Allegra Mostyn-Owen, the daughter of the art historian William Mostyn-Owen and the Italian writer Gaia Servadio.

The marriage was dissolved in 1993, six years after they wed.
