Man, 29, stabbed to death in street outside Edinburgh Castle in brutal broad daylight attack
A MAN has been stabbed to death in a street outside Edinburgh Castle today.
The victim, 29, was knifed in Johnson Terrace just yards from the world famous castle at just before 2pm.
Members of the public rushed to help the injured man but he died at the scene.
Cops have closed two roads following the city centre attack, including an NCP car park.
Police Scotland confirmed a man has been arrested over the incident and the surrounding roads are expected to be shut for several hours.
Police Scotland Chief Inspector David Robertson said: "I would like to reassure local residents and businesses that there is not believed to be any ongoing risk to the public.

"Johnston Terrace and King's Stables Road are currently closed and people are asked to avoid the area, where possible.
"Our inquiries continue and anyone who may have witnessed this and has not yet spoken to officers should contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident 1876 of May 30, immediately."
