Two tourists including girl, 6, killed after boat capsizes in France
TWO tourists have died after a pleasure boat capsized on the Rhine, France, including a six-year-old girl.
The incident took place near the island of Gerstheim, in the lower Rhine region on the river that borders with Germany.
German and French rescue divers are still looking for a second child passenger missing from the boat.
Authorities were reportedly able to rescue a 27-year-old man, the fourth passenger in the boat, which has been described as a pleasure boat or dinghy.
The nationality of the dead passengers is Romanian, according to local media reports.
reported that three passersby leapt into the river to save the passengers.
The two remaining rescuers swam back to shore.
