Tributes paid to tragic ‘gem of a man’ Brit dad Johny Doherty as body found floating in Ibiza sea
TRIBUTES to tragic Scots dad Johny Doherty have been paid on social media after his body was found floating in the sea in Ibiza.
The Glasgow man, 28, vanished on the Spanish island on Monday morning.
Police divers found his body off cliffs near Cap Martinet after an extensive land and sea searches.
Ten members of his worried family jetted out to Ibiza in a bid to find him.
But his loved ones were left heartbroken when it was confirmed a body had been discovered - and his dad is understood to have verified it was that of Johny.
Now hundreds of messages of condolence have been posted on Facebook.
One person said: "So sad thoughts are with Jordana and all the family".
Another commented: " RIP Johny heartbreaking our thoughts are with all his family 😢😢 GOD LESS YOU lovely young man".
One user said: "Fly high Johnny u were a total gem 💚 we just need Tay hood on Tay awe the mad memories we awe made up fernhill.
"ma 💚breaking for roni bad the wanes n ur family cx"
A fourth posted: "Omg this is heartbreaking".
We told how it had been feared he may have fallen from cliffs near the villa he was staying in.
Johny near the secluded cliff-top area of Cap Martinet in the municipality of Santa Eulalia.
The body was tragically found in water
He went missing without his phone, wallet or passport.

Johny’s sister Jordana told yesterday how he vanished without warning and was discovered missing when concerned friends in the UK started ringing people at the villa.
His bed had not been slept in and he had left behind his phone, bank cards and passport.
His family reported him missing to authorities in the UK as well as Civil Guard in Ibiza.
