D-Day hero Army chief, 91, endured humiliating police interrogation just days after wife’s death over ‘fantasist’ Nick’s claims he was paedo
A D-DAY hero Army chief in his 90s banged the desk and yelled at police officers accusing him of being paedophile following claims by "fantasist" Nick.
Carl Beech, 51, accused Lord Bramall of being part of a VIP paedophile ring that he claimed abused him for nearly a decade and also included ex-PM Ted Heath and DJ Jimmy Savile.

Cops raided Lord Bramall’s home as part of the £2million probe into allegations made by Beech - who previously used the alias “Nick” - but found no evidence to corroborate them.
Edwin Bramall, then aged 91 and now 95, was quizzed twice by cops over the claims - on one occasion just nine days after the death of his wife.
Dorothy Bramall, who he married in 1949, had died of dementia before detectives finally dropped the case against him.
'PREPOSTEROUS'
The former Commander-in-Chief of the British Army was too frail to give evidence at Beech’s trial at Newcastle crown court yesterday but the video of his police interviews were played to the jury.
He was interviewed at Aldershot police station by Detective Constable Gavin Sealey, of The Met, on April 30, 2015.
He told the officer: “This thing is so preposterous, it is so very difficult to understand how it could possibly have been made up other than by someone who specialises in sci-fi fictions."
When it was put to him that Savile was a fellow abuser, Lord Bramall said: "Jimmy Savile? JIMMY SAVILE? I have seen him on the television and always thought he was a dreadful man but I have never met him."
He later described Savile as "the most odious man I have ever seen".

'ASTONISHED, AMAZED, AGHAST'
He was asked about pool parties at an exclusive block of flats in London where Beech said he had been abused and was quizzed as to whether he could swim.
He replied: "Can I swim? Yes I can swim. I had to swim. I landed at Normandy and I jolly nearly had to swim."
Lord Bramall added: "I am absolutely astonished, amazed and aghast. Not only do I absolutely deny all of these things but I find it quite incredible that anyone would believe someone of my career, standing and integrity would be capable of these things, including torture of children.
"It is unbelievable."
On more than one occasion he said he had never had any sexual inclination towards his own sex or children.

'PAINFUL'
He said: "I have children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I deal with them all in a perfectly pure, decent and loving way. These allegations are absolutely outrageous."
In a second interview he pleaded with officers to clear his name swiftly.
He told them: "It is really awful for someone in my position to have had this damage done by what has gone to press and the web net.
"Please report to your superiors and say there is no evidence, there is no case to answer. Make it clear I am no longer a suspect, no longer under investigation.
"Otherwise my reputation is still being damaged on Google and that is not fair after my record and at my time of life.
"I ask you to clear this matter up and take me out of this investigation as soon as you possibly can.
"It is a very painful experience to have to go through at my age of 91 and having now just lost my wife."
HEAD OF THE ARMY
Field Marshall Edwin Bramall was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the King's Royal Rifle Corps on 22 May 1943 during the Second World War and took part in the Normandy landings in June 1944.
He went on to become Commander-in-Chief of British forces in Hong Kong, then Commander-in-Chief of UK Land Forces and retired as Chief of Defence Staff, a role he was appointed to in 1982.
The father-of-two married his wife Dorothy in 1949 and they lived at Bulford Manor in Wiltshire during his time as head of the army.

Beech, of Gloucester, claimed he was abused for nearly a decade by the sex ring and also witnessed three child murders committed by the VIPs.
The police inquiry was dropped after 16 months without any arrests apart from Beech himself who was accused of making it all up.
He denies perverting justice and fraud.
