UK weather forecast – Sunshine and highs of 28C today but Glastonbury could be hit by ‘severe’ winds, warns Met Office
BRITS will enjoy sunshine and highs of 28C today – but the Met Office has issued a “severe” warning for wind in the south-west.
Forecasters have predicted “fine and dry” conditions for most parts of the UK – good news for Glastonbury revellers at Somerset's Worthy Farm.

But festival-goers could also be hit by severe winds as gusts are expected to lash Devon, Cornwall and Somerset over the next 48 hours.
The Met Office warned the wind could spark travel chaos on the roads and railways.
Temperatures are set to stay in the 20s throughout the week but could jump to a scotching 33C over the weekend.
Met Office forecasters have warned of a "danger to life" as a 33C African heatwave sweeps in on Saturday.
The Saharan scorcher has emergency services 'on alert' with healthcare professionals working around the clock to "ensure readiness" for the blistering weather.

A Met Office health advice page warned: "Healthcare services will be working to ensure readiness and swift action to reduce harm from a potential heatwave.
"Heatwaves can be dangerous, especially for the very young or very old or those with chronic disease."
Craig Snell, a Met Office forecaster, told The Sun Online: "The heat at the end of this week can be traced back to North Africa, but that heat has seeped into Spain and France, which will see record-breaking temperatures.
"That will then seep into the UK as we go into Friday and Saturday."
Dr Emer O’Connell, public health consultant at Public Health England, added: "For some people, such as older people, those with underlying health conditions and those with young children, the summer heat can bring real health risks.
That’s why we’re urging everyone to keep an eye on those you know who may be at risk this summer. If you’re able, ask if your friends, family or neighbours need any support."
Swarms of flies infest homes as 'Saharan Bubble' heatwave creates perfect breeding conditions
THE Saharan bubble heatwave has sparked a huge FLY infestation - with the 33C scorcher bringing 'perfect' breeding conditions.
The critters have been found hiding in kettles, toilet bowls, and even cups of tea.
Fed-up families have even been forced to eat their dinners covered with giant NETS.
The problem is centralised in Avonmouth, Somerset, but people in nearby Shirehampton, Lawrence Weston and Hallen have also been affected.
Avonmouth resident Liesl Oliver said is is impossible to live a normal life with the flies swarming around.
She fumed: "You try and cook? They are there. Try and relax on an evening, they are landing on you constantly. Try and sleep? They are there.
"If I'm not working, my days off are cleaning, bleaching everything, don't know why I do this though because you could have the cleanest of houses and you're still affected by them.
"They make you feel dirty."
Brits in Scotland, Northern Ireland and South East England are in for a sunny treat today.
Mr Snell added: "Starting today we are looking at much drier weather across the board. A few showers in the South West but overall dry.
"It will be a dry day across many parts of the isles.
"There will be muggy start in the morning but it will gradually begin to break through the clouds.
"In Scotland, Northern Ireland, and South East England there is plenty of sunshine to be had.
"Temperatures on the South coast will reach 28C.
"However, along the North Sea coast the clouds will linger there and places like Norwich will see temperatures in the high teens.
"Pollen levels will be very high across the UK.
"UV levels will also be high, so take sensible precaution if you are out in the sun."

GLASTONBURY GLEE
Thursday will see the temperature go up a notch to 28C giving Glastonbury festival-goers some reprieve after some people arriving early were caught in the mud today.
That trend will only continue into Friday.
Mr Snell said: "It will be a great start to Glastonbury, with a little breeze to the far South West.
"We are looking temperatures in the high 20s, I imagine down towards the South West temperature will go up to 27C or 28C.
"On Friday temperatures will continue to climb with another sunny day across the board.
"Temperatures will go up a notch in North Somerset and Wales as it could tip to 30C.
"It will be a hot day for Glastonbury."

The hottest day of the week will be Saturday as the mercury will comfortably go above 30C in some places - but it won't reach the record temperature of 35C.
Mr Snell said: "The heat will move towards the East and by that stage London towards Lincolnshire will reach 31C or 32C.
"Some places may possibly reach 33C, but as of now we are safe from hitting the June record of 35.6C.
"It will still certainly be the hottest spell of weather this year."
