A LOTTO ‘winner’ who was denied a £4million payout by Camelot has claimed his life has been “ruined”.

Jon-Ross Watson, 31, along with pal Mark Goodram, 36, threatened to “call the cops on Camelot” after lottery bosses refused to payout over fears the ticket had been bought with a stolen debit card.

Now Watson claims the episode has ruined his life as people call him 'scum' in the street.

The pair, who are convicted criminals, had bought the £10 ticket at a branch of Waitrose during a day out in London during the Easter bank holiday.

Watson said he had been abused on social media and claimed he was mocked by members of the public when he went out in his hometown of Bolton.

He told : "In a way, it has ruined my life.

"People have been calling me a scumbag and laughing at me.

"I am just depressed all the time. I can't go to Bolton anymore, everywhere I go people laugh at me."

Watson added: "All over Facebook, people are saying I'm a loser, I'm a scumbag or I'm scum of the Earth. People are calling me all the words under the sun.

"It's the public's view of me, all because of my criminal past. It does upset me."

Watson, a convicted burglar, had previously told The Sun: "The Lottery catchline is ‘It Could Be You’. Well, it should be us.

“Camelot bosses are messing us around, probably because they know we’ve had a lively past and been in prison. Well, that’s too bad.

“They need to pay us what we are owed or else.

“I should be living it up in Las Vegas.”

Both Goodram and Watson claimed they had no knowledge of a stolen debit card being used for the scratchcard.

Goodram and Watson told The Sun they had the flutter with  loose change. They later suggested they had given a mate £10 to buy the scratchcard on his debit card.

Asked whose plastic it was, they named a mystery friend called “John” — but could not give his surname, address or phone number, adding the pal wanted to “remain anonymous”.
