Brit, 20, robbed of £400 by gang of girls in Benidorm on day one of first-ever lads’ holiday
A BRIT has been robbed of £400 by a gang of girls in Benidorm on day one of his first-ever lads' holiday.
Alex Ayland, 20, from Lydney, Gloucs, headed out to the Spanish tourist hotspot with a group of pals last week.
But his sunny getaway quickly turned into a nightmare when he was robbed of all his holiday cash on the first day by “two girls touching him up”.
His nightmare story was revealed by his stepmum Mand who shared the tale on a Benidorm Facebook group, asking others to “give him a smile” if they saw him.
She wrote: “Me and hubby come to Benidorm every year because we love the place.
“Our 20-year-old son arrived yesterday with some friends and was robbed of £400 from two girls touching him up.
“It was his first holiday without us. He rang us in tears, it was all he had.
“My point is if you see him could you give him a smile and hello, he wanted to get the first flight home.”
Sun Online previously revealed how pickpockets target Brits in the streets of the Spanish resort to steal valuables and holiday cash.
The female gangs, who sometimes pose as prostitutes, were previously filmed teaming up at busy crossroads to steal from boozy men on their way home after a night out.
Footage taken from a hotel balcony and posted on social media shows one woman repeatedly grabbing an English holidaymaker who appears unsteady on his feet.
She tries to put her hands into the pockets of his shorts and then pushes him around the corner and backs him into a wall as he shouts for a friend called Steve.
He eventually untangles himself from his relentless pursuer and she is filmed returning to her beat on the main road.
TOURISTS TARGETED
Now cops have launched a crackdown on the criminals – who often turn out to be well-organised Eastern European crooks.
A Romanian woman was arrested earlier this year for stealing £400 from a Brit tourist and another for pinching a £5,000 watch from an elderly man.
Another woman was seized after she took a wallet containing £400 from another holidaymaker.
Tourists are being warned about the crooks on a Facebook page set up to highlight crime and scams in the Spanish resort.
One tourist revealed a friend was robbed after coming out of a popular bar earlier this year.
He said: “Just walked out of Morgan’s, my mate left two minutes before us by that time he had been robbed of everything by the prostitutes...be careful.”

Tourists have also reported having their wallets, purses, passports and even luggage swiped as soon as they step off airport buses outside hotels.
Another victim wrote: “My 84-year-old dad had his wallet stolen five minutes after getting off the coach outside Don Pancho Hotel.
“And also on Wednesday afternoon in the indoor market my sister had her wallet stolen.”
