Brit stabbed with screwdriver in Magaluf as Spanish cops warn tourists to expect more attacks in party resort

A BRITISH man has been stabbed with a screwdriver in Magaluf as Spanish cops warn more attacks against tourists could be on the way.
The Brit, who is in his early 20s, was enjoying a night out in the Spanish party resort when he was stabbed in the Punta Ballena area.
Cops say he was lucky to have survived as the screwdriver narrowly missed his heart and lungs.
He is currently in Son Espases hospital, where he is said to be in a stable condition.
The Brit is said to have been stabbed in the main strip of bars and clubs, which are packed every night with drunken tourists.
A 22-year-old Spanish man was arrested at the scene and is due to appear in court in the capital of Palma this morning.
Now tourists are being warned they are risk of being attacked by violent criminals.
WARNING OVER MORE ATTACKS
A police source, who asked not to be named, told : “Stabbing has become a problem here in recent years there is no doubt about it.
"Parents need to warn their youngsters before they get on the plane to be sensible.”
Alarmingly, he added: “Soon we will have an influx of French-Algerians and they never mix with the English, they always fight but they do so with knives.
“They do not mix. We would warn people to be careful. It is a problem.
“We wear stab vests as standard, but so do the bouncers. It is just sensible these days.”
