WONGA CHOICE
Meghan Markle hailed former boss of pay day loan firm Wonga Tessa Clarke as ‘force for change’ in Vogue issue
ONE of the women saluted by the Duchess of Sussex on the cover of Vogue is an ex-boss of pay day loan firm Wonga.
Tessa Clarke was among those hailed a “force for change” when Meghan guest-edited the fashion magazine.
She was listed for app OLIO, linking neighbours, shops and cafes so surplus food is not wasted.
She also spent a year at Wonga, slammed for charging borrowers up to 5,835 per cent interest.
In 2014 Clarke went on TV to apologise for fake legal letters sent to struggling customers before she arrived.
Meghan said she met her “secretly last year”.
It is not known if she has heard of Wonga, which went into administration last year.
