Labour’s John McDonnell threatens to tell Queen ‘we’re taking over’ and send Corbyn to her in a cab if BoJo loses no-confidence vote
HARD-LEFT firebrand John McDonnell last night threatened to drag the Queen into a constitutional crisis over Brexit.
The Shadow Chancellor said Labour would “take over” if Boris Johnson refused to quit in the wake of a no confidence vote.
And his party would send leader Jeremy Corbyn to Buckingham palace “in a cab”.
He also threatened to jail Tory MPs over benefits cuts if the party ever comes to power.
McDonnell said: “I don’t want to drag the Queen into this but I would be sending Jeremy Corbyn in a cab to Buckingham Palace to say we’re taking over.”
Former Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith told the Daily Telegraph: “They will effectively arrive toting their guns. It’s basically a coup.”
Mr McDonnell was last night quizzed over his threat to jail Tories after previously declaring: “One day, I warn you, we will try them.”
Pressed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival by host Iain Dale on what law he might use to prosecute them, he replied: “I might want to invent it.”
MCDONNELL TAKES ON TORIES
Tory MP and party vice chairman Paul Scully responded: “It comes as little surprise McDonnell wants to invent laws to silence opponents.
“This is a man with a sinister history, who has called for a female MP to be lynched, ‘direct action’ against opposing MPs and praised the bombs and bullets of the IRA.”

The pair traded barbs after McDonnell revealed Labour would not stand in the way of another Scottish referendum on independence.
Corbyn’s right-hand man said the party would wait for the SNP-dominated Scottish Parliament “to decide” whether to hold another vote.
He said: “We would not block something like that. We would let the Scottish people decide.”
In a busy week for the Labour MP, McDonnell also claimed Sajid Javid was unfit to be Chancellor.
The shadow chancellor alleged that while a senior director at Deutsche Bank, Mr Javid had traded in a “particularly dangerous” type of debt that played a key role in the 2008 financial crash – and signed up for a tax avoidance scheme while earning an estimated £3m a year.

A Tory spokesman told McDonnell to get his party’s house in order before attacking government ministers.
They fumed: “Frankly, Labour might want to use the time better thinking about their own credentials for governing.
“Not content with antisemitism being rife in their party and their totally incoherent Brexit policy, the only threat to the UK economy is them.”
