Mum of two claims she saw Pennywise clown doll ‘suddenly appear in the trees then float into her back garden’ so she set it on fire
A MUM of two has claimed she saw a Pennywise clown doll suddenly appear in the trees outside her home, forcing her to set it on fire and sleep with a knife.
Renee Jensen, 42, was relaxing in the backyard of her New Jersey home when she spotted the airborne soft toy cartoon version of the child-eating clown monster from 'It'.
The 42-year-old mother of two said she saw the creepy doll come through the tree line and across the yard of her Harrington Park home on Saturday afternoon.
She told she thought at the time: “Did a freaking bird die in midair or something?
“It came at an angle and I just watched this thing, it didn’t hit a single tree and went straight over, just cleared the gate and hit the pine branches and hit the ground."
Upon inspecting the mystery object, she discovered it was Pennywise the clown.
The Dancing Clown has fascinated generations since the villain haunted a small American town in the Stephen King novel, It.
Jensen said she read the book many years ago but didn't immediately recognise the cartoon imitation of the evil clown - complete with costume, bloodied mouth and menacing grin.
Bizarre cult-like symbols were also etched onto the doll's head.
“It looked like weirdo occult satanic sh**t," Jensen described.
Terrified, she dropped the toy and called out to her boyfriend.
Speaking to the she explained: "I turned it over and saw the face and let go of it immediately and yelled for Alex."
Jensen explained she lives off a county road in a leafy suburb surrounded by trees with only one neighbour nearby.
She questioned: “There’s no way they [neighbours] could have launched this thing from their house.
“If you saw how many trees we have and where this thing came from, it made no sense at all.
"It didn’t even hit any of our trees until it was just about to land at our gate."
The couple initially shared the photos of the clown intruder over Facebook but concerned respondents advised her to contact police.
Two Harrington Park police officer came to the property that evening and recommended they get rid of the doll.
“They were hysterical,” Jensen said.
“They wouldn’t touch it. they were totally creeped out too. It was so funny.”
Eventually, Jensen used newspaper as kindling to set the clown alight.
She said she slept with a knife and the bedroom door locked.
The cautious mum added: “I had a stick of sage and I lit that thing. I was walking around our whole entire property.”
