Bouncer shot dead outside Algarve nightclub packed with Brits as assassin flees on motorbike
A BOUNCER has died after being shot at an Algarve nightclub popular with British tourists.
The 19-year-old Portuguese national was rushed to hospital “critically injured” after being gunned down outside LICK disco near the holiday resort of Vilamoura just after 3.30am today.
He failed to survive his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after reaching Faro Hospital.
Local reports said the gunman, who escaped on a motorbike, had returned with a weapon after being refused entry earlier the same night and shot his victim up to four times.
Portugal’s Policia Judiciaria force are hunting the killer.
They have recovered the motorbike but had made no arrests by mid morning today.
A spokesman for an emergency response centre said: “We were alerted to an incident involving a firearm.
“The victim suffered gunshot wounds. He was seriously injured and was taken to Faro Hospital.”

LICK, previously mega-nightclub Kadok, is on the edge of Vilamoura between the party resort of Albufeira and Boliqueime.
