Judge slams Instagram for failing to hand over chat logs between paedo and vulnerable girl, 15
A JUDGE has slammed Instagram for failing to hand over chat logs between a paedo and a vulnerable girl of 15 he was grooming.
The social networking service was blasted in court over a sick sex-talk community site called Daddy Dom Little Girl.
Dominic Nielen-Groen, 39, used it to prey on the youngster who lived more than 160 miles from his Wolverhampton home.
He later drove to meet her at a play park in Seaton, Devon, where he hugged her and tried to force her to suck on a baby’s dummy.
He continued to pester her with messages and tried to arrange a second meeting, the BBC reported.
INSTAGRAM PAEDO CHAT
Computer engineer Nielen-Groen used the name Papa Bear on the community site which was “widely used by paedophiles”, Judge Jonathan Barnes said.
The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had more than 3,000 followers and would send pictures of her body in return for money.
The judge said of Instagram’s failure to hand over the logs of the pair’s conversations: “Sometimes these social media companies put misplaced loyalty to their customers before the administration of justice.”
Nielen-Groen was found guilty of grooming a child with the intention of committing a sexual offence and got 18 months’ jail at Exeter crown court.

Instagram owner Facebook insisted after the case that keeping youngsters safe on its sites was “a top priority”.
In the past year it had “tripled the size of our safety team to 30,000 people” and worked closely with police and child protection organisations.
It was “continuing to build new features and technology to find harmful content”.
