Woman, 29, seriously injured after plunging from 5th floor of Birmingham tower block
A 29-YEAR-OLD woman has been seriously injured after plunging from the 5th floor of a Birmingham tower block.
The unidentified woman was taken to hospital after the fall in the early hours of Saturday morning.
West Midlands Police officers are investigating how the woman came to fall from the tower which is seven floors high.
Two police vehicles and a police cordon are present on the scene at the Quarry House block in Rubery, Rednal.
A window was seen open above the area which police have taped off.
A West Midlands Police Spokeswoman said: “Police are currently on Cock Hill Lane in the Rubery area of Birmingham after a woman fell from a tower block just before 2am this morning (Saturday 31 August).
“The [woman] has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and a cordon remains in place on the road.”
Enquiries are continuing to establish what happened.
Earlier this week, a young yoga enthusiast who was balancing upside down on her balcony plunged headfirst 82ft to the ground below, breaking 110 bones in the horror fall.
Alexa Terrazas, 23, often practised complicated yoga poses on her balcony but slipped and fell from her third-floor apartment in San Pedro, Mexico.
"Balconing" is the term given to the practice of either trying to climb on to balconies or from one room to another or to try and jump or dive into a swimming pool below.
