Prince Andrew’s ex Lady Victoria Hervey fears Jeffrey Epstein spied on her at the paedo tycoon’s New York apartment
LADY Victoria Hervey believes paedo Jeffrey Epstein “spied” on her when she stayed at one of his “sex flats.”
The former IT girl, 42, who once dated Prince Andrew, has told how she stayed in the paedophile’s property in New York for a week before fleeing because she felt “frightened.”
She met the wealthy financier aged 23 through her friend Ghislaine Maxwell who is alleged to have acted as a madame for Epstein – claims she strongly denies.
Victoria went on a date with Andrew in 1999 – but while romance failed to blossom between the two, the socialite became part of his inner circle of powerful pals.
In 2000, she was invited to dinner in London with the royal, Donald Trump, Bill Clinton and Epstein who she said was “very charming”.
And the following year, she claims Ms Maxwell set her up in one of Epstein’s apartments in New York – where she believes she was spied on with cameras.
Despite being unaware of the hedge fund manager’s crimes, Victoria says she found the experience “frightening” and left after a week, reports .
All I know is something about that flat did not feel right
She said: “All I know is something about that flat did not feel right. Now, after reading about everything that went on, I’m shocked.
“I remember feeling like there were cameras in the room spying on me, that I was being watched. I just felt it in my gut. It didn’t feel right."
Victoria, who was in New York to work as a model , suggests she may not have been young enough for Epstein.
She adds: “It’s horrifying. It could have been me – but maybe I was too old. It is a scary thought."
Prince Andrew's friendship with Epstein has come under the spotlight after the financier killed himself on August 10 while awaiting trial on child sex trafficking charges.
The royal strongly denies any wrongdoing and said he was unaware of his Epstein's crimes.
Buckingham Palace said the Duke of York would help authorities in any investigations into the disgraced millionaire.
In a statement Prince Andrew said: "It is apparent to me since the suicide of Mr Epstein that there has been an immense amount of media speculation about so much in his life.
"This is particularly the case in relation to my former association or friendship with Mr Epstein. Therefore I am eager to clarify the facts to avoid further speculation.
"I met Mr Epstein in 1999. During the time I knew him, I saw him infrequently and probably no more than only once or twice a year. I have stayed in a number of his residences.
DUKE'S DENIAL
"At no stage during the limited time I spent with him did I see, witness or suspect any behaviour of the sort that subsequently led to his arrest and conviction."
The Duke was last pictured with Epstein in New York in 2010 after the hedge fund manager had been released from prison and was a registered sex offender.
He was infamously pictured with his arm around Virginia Roberts at Ms Maxwell's home in London in 2001.
The alleged sex slave once again spoke out about the Duke this week in which she said Andrew should "come clean" about their alleged encounters.
RETURN FROM HOLS
This comes as The Sun revealed that Andrew has flown home from a golf holiday for crisis talks with royal advisers.
His former wife and current companion Sarah Ferguson was also on the private jet flight from Spain as she continues to stand by the Duke of York.
The couple feared that staying on holiday in the light of daily revelations relating to the prince’s relationship with Epstein was becoming a bad look.
