Advertising executive facing the sack hires a CLOWN to make balloon animals throughout his redundancy meeting
A CHEEKY advertising exec who was facing the sack made sure he had the last laugh by hiring a clown to support him during his official redundancy meeting.
A picture shows the worker casually lounging in the boardroom next to a funnyman in a rainbow wig - who spent the meeting making balloon animals.
Bosses at of Auckland firm FCB handed over the redundancy paperwork to the clown - who sobbed on cue, reports .
Sitting across the table from the clown and the pink-shirted worker - an Australian - were a stern-looking man and woman both dressed in formal office wear.
FCB would not provide any details on the clown's presence at the formal meeting after the picture was sent to the Herald.
But the ad firm insisted it was not part a viral marketing campaign.
The company said: "We do not comment on individual employment matters out of respect for those involved."
Reports say the redundancy was one of a number of job cuts at the ad agency following the loss of a lucrative Vodafone account.
It's understood the witty worker has now landed a new job at rival firm DDB - when he returns from a trip to his home country.
DDB did not comment on the new appointment but admitted it knew of the bizarre incident.
It reportedly said it was "aware of some balloon-related activity", adding it found clowns terrifying.
