Meghan Markle reveals she ‘slept with one eye open’ on 11-hour flight to Cape Town as she hails ‘wonderful’ baby Archie

: "They said it was the longest flight they have taken with Archie. She slept with one eye open – but he was very good."

Meghan first wore the stripped maxi sundress from Australian designer Grant Martin, who is clearly becoming a favourite of the Duchess.

Earlier she donned a headscarf as she and Prince Harry visited the oldest mosque in South Africa today on Day 2 of the royal tour.

She also gushed about her "wonderful" four-month-old baby as she said her "transition to motherhood" has been "easy".

The Duchess of Sussex looked chic for the afternoon engagement, beaming as she met members of the Auwal Mosque in the vibrant Bo-Kaap area.

Wearing a £260 Staud dress and light headscarf, she held hands with Prince Harry as they arrived for the visit.

The Duke also appeared respectful, taking his shoes off before heading inside.

They then sat down with locals to discuss their work with the community and to mark Heritage Day, a public holiday that celebrates culture and diversity in South Africa.

As they arrived at the mosque, Meghan and Harry met Father Lapsley, an Anglican and equal rights campaigner who lost both hands and the sight in one eye in a letter bomb sent by the Civil Cooperation Bureau, a covert outfit of the apartheid security forces.

And the couple made sure to spend time with locals, appearing delighted as they were presented with gifts and flowers from adoring fans.

Meghan even tucked one of the flowers behind her ears and she doled out hugs.

It comes after the couple had shared a sweet kiss this morning as they gushed over each other being the "best parents".

Meghan revealed the couple's son Archie had given herself and the Duke "new strength" as a couple while they joined a sharing circle on the second day of their royal Africa tour.

The couple had been left in fits of laughter as they showed off their dance moves yet again as they visited - a charity that works with surfers to provide mental health support for youngsters.

Joining a meditation circle with young members of the charity, Harry and Meghan beamed as they took part in "Power Hands" at Monwabisi Beach on the outskirts of Cape Town in South Africa as part of their ten-day tour.

The couple were invited to declare their personal strengths during the circle session, with Prince Harry urging his wife to share.

Joking that dancing wasn't her strong point, she then added that she was "learning and developing" parenting as a new strength.

She then declared Prince Harry was the "best dad" with her husband calling her "the best mum".

The couple are clearly still enamoured with each other - often holding hands as they walked between engagements before sharing a sweet kiss as they parted ways.

And while they left four-month-old Archie at home for the busy day of engagements today, they were handed gifts for their son by royal fans.

The windy day also the couple show off their dance moves - with Meghan bursting into laughter.

It's not the first time they have been convinced to start dancing - cheerfully joining a welcome dance as they arrived for the Africa tour yesterday.

Ash Heese, 37, who works as a training and partnerships manager at Waves for Change, later said: "We were invited to share strengths because it’s part of the activity and identifying your strengths, you feel more positive.

"She looked a little bit hesitant so one of our coaches shared that her participation and her energy and her dancing was one of her strengths.

"She laughed and said no she doesn’t think so, but parenting is a new strength that she and Harry are learning and developing

"She said he’s the best dad, and he said she’s the best mum."

Meghan kept it casual for today's engagement, wearing a white shirt paired with black trousers, recycled Madewell denim jacket and Brother Vellies Huaraches Flats in Whiskey.

She also had her £55 Le Specs sunglasses hooked onto the front of her shirt - while trying to keep her hair under control in the blustery winds.

Speaking to media for the first time since introducing Archie to the world in May, Meghan gushed: "What’s so amazing about being here today is seeing there is so much good happening in the world and there’s so much positivity, and diversity and inclusivity."

She added: "If you're in a small community or a township, if you're in a big city, everyone is dealing with a different version of the same thing.

"Globally, I think there's a bit of a consciousness crisis and so the fact that we're able to be here together and see on the ground so much good work that's being done, just because people are willing to talk to each other about it and someone is willing to listen is huge.

"And that can apply to being here, certainly can apply to being in London, LA. It doesn't matter where you are, we're all trying to power through and find some optimism."

She and Prince Harry, who wore a green shirt and grey trousers, appeared in good spirits as they joined in the welcome Kilo - a welcoming call and response game.

'AMAZING' TOUR

Harry also gushed about their "amazing" trip so far - saying: "This Africa tour was always going to be fantastic, been looking forward to Cape Town - her first visit, I love this place.

"And again meeting the people, the energy, the fun, again the positivity, the optimism and the hope in the face of such incredible adversity.

"There are young people and older people, men and women trying to change what effectively has become the norm."

He said he was particularly keeping track of violence against women, distressed to see numbers recently peak.

Meghan looked stunning for the visit, but chose not to wear her engagement ring for the South Africa tour.

Instead, she is wearing her wedding ring along with a thin ring with a turquoise stone.

It is unclear why she has gone without wearing her ring, however it has been suggested she has wanted to be "low key" during the visit.

The duchess also made sure to visit workers at the Lunchbox Fund, an organisation which provides daily meals for South African schoolchildren.

The charity is one Meghan and Harry asked supporters to donate to after baby Archie was born in May.

And after their visit to the beach, the couple then split off, with Meghan expected to stay back with baby Archie while Prince Harry set out for his duties of Captain General of the Royal Marines.

The Duke was soaked in water as he travelled with the City of Cape Town Marine Unit by boat to learn about poaching of abalone.

The couple are expected to be reunited at Bo Kaap in celebration of Heritage Day, a South African public holiday, later today.

It comes after the couple gave royal fans a glimpse of baby Archie as they touched down on the continent yesterday.

And surrounded by young women who have benefited from a female empowerment programme teaching them self-defence, the duchess took the unusual step of highlighting her mixed-race heritage.

In a powerful speech to the hosts, Meghan said: “On a personal note while I’m here as a member of the royal family, I’m here with you as a mother, as a wife, as a woman, as a woman of colour and as your sister.

"Please know that my husband and I have been closely following what you’ve been experiencing here — as best we can from afar.

"But now that we are with you, we are eager to learn and see first-hand the work that you’re doing, the vital work that you’re doing.

"And that everything that is being done on the ground is making the great change that you not only need but that you deserve."
