JEREMY Corbyn has chickened out of trying to boot Theresa May out of office this week amid the Brexit chaos.

The Labour boss won't bring forward a vote of no confidence forward until she comes back to the House of Commons with changes, which he thinks will mean nothing to MPs.

A spokesperson said this evening: "We will put down a motion of no confidence when we judge it most likely to be successful."

And they said she would end up bringing "the same deal back to the House of Commons without significant changes".

"At that point, she will have decisively and unquestionably lost the confidence of Parliament on the most important issue facing the country," the spokesperson added, and a general election was more likely.

Earlier today first Minister Nicola Sturgeon offered to support Labour if they put forward a motion to try and topple the Tories within hours.

She appealed to boot them out of office, just hours after Mrs May revealed she plans to postpone her crunch Commons vote as she can't get enough MPs on side to pass it.

Labour Mp Ian Murray has been rally round Labour colleagues to write to the Labour boss to try and press a vote of no confidence and then a second referendum.

He said this evening: "Following today’s farcical events by the Government, I have written with dozens of colleagues to ask Jeremy Corbyn to press a vote of no confidence this week and then go immediately for a @peoplesvote_uk".

This afternoon MP Chris Leslie said it was "highly likely" that a vote would come against the PM, but the leadership won't bring one unless they are absolutely sure that they can win it.

The pro-Remain campaigner said that would kick-start the campaign for a second referendum, which could then lead to staying in the EU altogether.

"It's clear the Prime Minister can't command confidence in Parliament," the Labour backbencher told BBC News this afternoon.

The Sun says

THE Labour-dominated Remainer establishment has long conspired to stop Brexit.

Wait till you see the stitch-up planned for their second referendum.

One MP after another yesterday repeated the fiction that the “facts have changed”, that Leavers have “changed their minds” and need a “people’s vote”.

In fact, Remainer MPs would rather Leavers never vote.

They intend to ensure it by offering the only options as Remain or Mrs May’s unpopular deal.

Anyone hoping simply to “leave” would be denied the chance.

The Remainer-stuffed Electoral Commission would no doubt make that non-choice a reality.

But the one option that should be ruled out is “Remain”.

Anything else is an affront to democracy.

Leavers haven’t changed their minds — except about Remoaner politicians who once promised to honour the 2016 verdict

He added: "I imagine Jeremy Corbyn will put down a vote of no confidence in the Government straight away, and then we can move on with discussing how we put this back to the British people."

The DUP - the Northern Irish party who prop up Mrs May's government - has said they will support the PM in a confidence motion.

So even if everyone teamed up against her, there would not be enough to collapse the Government unless some Tories voted against their own party.

They'd be unlikely to do that as it would likely lead to another general election.

Later today Mrs May will give a speech to MPs in the Commons about what her plan is now.

It was reported that the PM will go back to Brussels and try and seek more concessions from Brussels over the hated Northern Ireland backstop.
