Voters just want MPs to hurry up with Brexit and stop squabbling

Fresh polling last night showed that Brits blame Theresa May's squabbling Cabinet for failing to agree on a clear plan for Brexit

MOST British voters just want MPs to stop squabbling and get on with delivering Brexit, polling shows.

YouGov polls last week said that 47 per cent of people thought it would be totally undemocratic to try and reverse the result with another vote.

The people had already voted and that decision should be final, they said.

Meanwhile, fresh polling last night showed that Brits blame Theresa May's bickering Cabinet for failing to agree on a clear plan for our EU exit.

The results from PoliHQ showed that 49 per cent blamed the PM and her top team for the Brexit impasse.

A total of 25 per cent said the it was the fault of backbenchers meddling, and seven per cent thought it was down to Jeremy Corbyn and the shadow cabinet.

Other surveys from the ESRC showed that a two thirds of voters probably wouldn't mind a Norway model - which would keep us in the single market and possibly part of the European Economic Area.

But the downside of that is Britain would have to accept freedom of movement, which was a key part of the referendum debate.

Last year among Leave voters showed that two thirds who wanted us to ditch the EU were "not interested in the details and just want those responsible to get on with it".

Even 37 per cent of Remainers agreed with that sentiment.

However, voters overall are just as split over what to do next.

Polls from YouGov earlier this week showed that almost half wanted there to be a referendum on the deal, and 37 per cent wanted to leave with no deal at all.

Just 12 per cent wanted to have another Commons vote on the deal - as Mrs May is trying to do.

And despite the sentiment that the British people are sick of Brexit and just want to move on, it couldn't be further from the impasse in Parliament.

After 432 MPs threw out her deal last night, there's no clear majority for what they actually DO want.

Some think we should go back to Brussels and try to tweak the existing deal, but others want us to leave without one at all.

Many MPs are backing options involving staying in the customs union or single market - and that's not counting the number of MPs who don't want us to leave at all.
