A TWISTED Remainer has called a Labour MP a "f***ing traitor" and said she should be "gunned down" for refusing to back a second Brexit vote.

The message, from someone named only as Helen, read: "You are a f***ing traitor you silly f***ing bitch.

"We will remember your actions you spineless s**t. Watch your back as you will not be forgiven. TRAITOR."

Ms Onn, the MP for Grimsby, tweeted this morning: "How not to win people round to your cause."

A follow up email said: "The likes of you should be f***ing gunned down."

One of the hate-filled threats sent to the Labour MP

The MP, who is a shadow housing minister on Labour's front bench, has come out against a second Brexit referendum.

Ms Onn condemned the comments and said this morning: "Everyone in Grimsby knows I've never backed down from a debate, even when I've had an unpopular point of view, but we must be allowed to have an opinion without this nonsense."

Her threat comes days after SNP MP Stewart McDonald and

Ms Onn said she'd have to quit if the party did decide to get behind a second Brexit vote.

She and others met with the Labour team this week to urge the party not to back a so-called 'People's Vote' which could overturn Brexit entirely.

The MP told the Guardian: "It was a meeting for frontbenchers who would find it very difficult to vote for a people’s vote if it was whipped that way.

"We have been supportive of the party’s policy so far to keep us as a strong and united opposition. We have not been as free in our views as some other colleagues, whose views we absolutely respect, but we didn’t want that to be seen as the only set of views that exist."

So far more than 70 MPs have publicly called for a fresh vote.

But many Labour MPs, especially ones representing Northern seats which tended to vote Leave, are worried they could be booted out by their constituents in a furious backlash.

However, Wes Streeting told his constituents in Leave-voting Ilford North this week: "I would rather tell it how it is and risk losing my job, than stay silent and risk my constituents losing theirs."

Labour has said it will only back another vote if there's no chance of holding a general election.

The party's vote of no confidence in the PM failed last week, meaning they can't kick her out of office for the time being.

Last night Labour's shadow chancellor John McDonnell said it was "highly likely" the party would back a plan to stop a No Deal Brexit from happening.

And he said that any referendum that were to be held should include a choice between the Brexit deal on the table, or remaining in the EU.

Delaying Brexit is the most likely option as No Deal could kill the economy, Remainer George Osborne claims
