LEFTIE author Will Self accused a leading Brexiteer of having a small penis - seconds before they clashed on live TV, it was revealed yesterday.
Tory MP Mark Francois took him to task on BBC on Friday after he declared “all racists vote for Leave”.
But yesterday Mr Francois told BBC Radio Essex of how Mr Self had tried to wind him up before their TV appearance.
The joke centred on Attorney General Geoffrey Cox’s infamous ‘codpiece’ - the legal codicil that the Government is trying to secure concessions with from the EU.
Mr Self asked Mr Francois: “Well Mark, what’s in your codpiece?”
Mr Francois replied: “That’s none of your business.”
The author replied: “Are you saying that because you’ve got a small penis?”
But the Tory MP shot back: “As a matter of fact mate, no quite the opposite, but what did you say that for?”
Seconds later the pair clashed on BBC Politics Live over Mr Self’s claim that all Brexit voters were racists.

The two men were then locked in a furious row - which ended with the pair of them death-staring each other.
Fervent Remainer Mr Self claimed: “You don’t have to be a racist or anti-Semite to vote for Brexit, it’s just that every racist and anti-Semite in the country did.”
Mr Francois raged: “I think you should apologise on national television. I think that’s an outrageous thing to say.”
