PIERS Morgan has told Tony Blair today there would be "hell to pay" if another Brexit vote was forced onto the British people.

The Good Morning Britain host said the people would be "enraged" if Britain ended up with another vote and we should allow the first one to be put into place.

He told the former PM this morning: "Surely we owe it to the people to enact Brexit and see it works?

"If we don't do that and we slip into a second referendum, there will be hell to pay in this country.

"They would be enraged, the problem wouldn't be solved, they would just demand another one."

Remainer Mr Blair, who wants Britain to stay in the EU in defiance of 17.4million people, told ITV today that it was "not unreasonable to say after three years of chaos and mess, asking, 'do you really want to proceed?' or not?"

'Mystery' over future relationship

He dubbed Brexit a "nightmare" and insisted that Mrs May's deal "leaves Northern Ireland in a bit of a mess and the future relationship a mystery".

He insisted he hasn't been telling France's President Macron that they should hold firm and we'll stay in the bloc.

"I've been saying that if Britain thinks again, we will get to the point we do go back to the people."

And he stressed that Europe should think again about what led to Brexit - immigration and Brussels bureaucracy.

Piers asked him why he didn't give the British people a say on the war in Iraq, and said now that Parliament is going against the "will of the people".

This week Theresa May is facing a fresh headache over Brexit after Speaker John Bercow said she can't bring back her deal again if it's the same one as last time.

Brexit Secretary Stephen Barclay played down the fears this morning, saying that if MPs changed their minds on the deal then they could have an argument to bring it back again.

He told the BBC: "If the will of the House is for a further vote, I'm sure the Speaker would look at that very closely."

And he hinted that a change with the DUP or something from the European summit later this week could bring back the right changes.

However, it's unlikely that another vote will come back this week, he added.
