TORY veteran Ann Widdecombe today vowed to send a massive shock through Westminster after joining the Brexit Party.

The former minister said she was "on a mission" to deliver Brexit after do-nothing politicians repeatedly blocked the 2016 referendum result.

Ms Widdecombe also insisted she's speaking for millions of Brits by standing up for our EU exit and joining Nigel Farage's new outlet.

Appearing on ITV's Good Morning Britain today, she blasted: "Britain's an international laughing stock, Parliament is a parody, the whole thing is making the electorate very fed up.

"Everybody - both Leavers and Remainers - are saying get it done, just stop messing about.

"What needs to happen in these European elections is for us to send a seismic shock to both major parties.

"The electorate has had enough, we said what we wanted to do - just get it done and over."

She denied the suggestion that backing the Brexit Party in the upcoming European Parliament elections is no more than a protest vote.

Ms Widdecombe said: "It's far from a protest vote, it is a means to try and galvanise Westminster into getting this issue dealt with.

"Nigel Farage has been more successful than any politican other than Margaret Thatcher at getting his agenda through."

The ex-Tory MP, who was John Major's Prisons Minister, is standing to become an MEP for the South-West.

Britain will have to take part in the EU elections on May 23 if the Commons hasn't signed off on a Brexit deal by then.

The Brexit Party today received another unlikely backer in the form of Sarah Vine, Michael Gove's wife, who declared she's planning to vote for ex-Communist Claire Fox.
