David Cameron treats No10 staff to a takeaway curry in emotional farewell dinner
Westminster's favourite curry house said: 'It's been a pleasure Prime Minister'
DEPARTING David Cameron treated his staff to a takeaway curry at an emotional “last supper” inside No 10 last night.
A (hot) source said aides and advisers gathered to break naan bread for the last time, with an emotional speech from the outgoing PM.
The posh Kennington Tandoori curry house in South London tweeted a picture of the spicy feast on its way to Downing Street, saying: “It's been a pleasure Prime Minister!”
The upmarket curry house has been a favourite of the Cameroons during their time in government, with insider's claiming Mr Cameron is fond of a chicken balti.
The infamous joint and it’s neighbour Gandhi’s have long been at the heart of Westminster folklore.
Just a short nip across the river from the House of Commons, they provided Labour Chancellor Alistair Darling and his team with round the clock supplies during the financial crash of 2008.
They were at the centre of the “curry house plots” to unseat failing PM Gordon Brown in 2009.
Just a short distance from the Oval cricket ground, punters can often find Tory grandee Ken Clarke tucking into a korma after a test match.
On a visit to India in 2013, Mr Cameron said: “I like a pretty hot curry.".

He added: “And while I’m very proud that we’ve got some curries here in Britain that we’re exporting back to India, I’m also hoping to sample some of India’s finest during my trip.”
He will have plenty of time to sample them now, relieved from the pressures of high office.
