5 key takeaways from the Queen’s Speech including Brexit bonanza and outdoor boozing – here’s how it will affect YOU
PRINCE Charles today unveiled Boris Johnson's masterplan to "turbocharge" Britain through the crippling cost of living storm.
The PM used the Queen's Speech to announce a blizzard of 38 new laws to pull his premiership "back on track" after Covid threw it off course.
His blueprint includes a crime blitz, sweeping planning reforms, and a crackdown on kids skipping school to boost education standards.
Critics were immediately scathing over the lack of urgent support for the millions struggling to make ends meet.
The PM stressed that strengthening the economy was his main mission and crucial to bringing down bills for hard-up families.
But he hinted that there would be no more support money any time soon - as it would sink the nation's coffers further into the red.
COST OF LIVING HOLE
Delivering the speech in place of his frail mother, Charles told Parliament: "Her Majesty's government's priority is to grow and strengthen the economy and help ease the cost of living for families."
In his own preamble Mr Johnson hailed the £22billion of help Rishi Sunak has already announced to help cushion the cost of living onslaught.
But he disappointed Brits crying out for more support by failing to offer up any more financial support in the short term.
In a cold dose of reality he warned: "No government can realistically shield everyone from the impact."
He insisted that doling out more money and racking up more debt would only scar the economy in the long run.
The PM added: "We must also remember that for every pound of taxpayer’s money we spend on reducing bills now, it is a pound we are not investing in bringing down bills and prices over the longer term.
"And that if anything, this moment makes clear our best remedy lies in urgently delivering on our mission to turbo charge the economy, create jobs and spread opportunity across the country."
Instead he said unleashing the engine of the economy was the best way to bring down sky-high bills.

RIGHTS FOR RENTERS
Renters were today promised ironclad protections against being chucked out by shameless landlords for no reason.
The PM announced in the Queen's Speech he will scrap "no fault evictions" in the coming year.
Currently landlords can send their tenants packing with eight weeks notice without any explanation.
But the PM today vowed to abolish the section 21 orders that leave vulnerable renters in the lurch.
PINTS ON PAVEMENTS
Sweeping new planning laws will pave the way for pubs and restaurants to revive the street dining areas that boomed in lockdown.
Local councils will be able to grant licences for venues to spill out onto pavements for outdoor seating areas.
Fresh powers will also hand residents a say over their local area, including whether to change street names.
And authorities will be able to auction off empty premises to stop high streets falling into dilapidation.
KIDS CRACKDOWN
A crackdown on kids skipping school was unveiled among the blizzard of pledges in today's Queen's Speech.
Tough attendance rules will be enshrined in law to wrestle down truancy rates that soared during the pandemic.
Teachers will be required to draw up attendance policies to ensure as many children as possible are in class.
Separately a new national register of home-schooled kids will be compiled to stop children "falling through the cracks".
BREXIT BONANZA
Mr Johnson used the Queen's Speech to light a bonfire of EU red tape still clamped on British businesses.
He promised to repeal £1billion worth of "burdensome" Brussels rules still throttling our firms.
