Squaddies’ shock orgy shows Army is stuck in the 1990s, Ben Wallace fumes

SQUADDIES who filmed themselves having an orgy in their barracks show the Army is still stuck in the 1990s, the Defence Secretary fumed.

Ben Wallace blasted soldiers from 16 Air Assault Brigade who watched as colleagues romped with a woman smuggled on to the base.

He said the reports made him feel “deeply uneasy” and said he had ordered officials to get the full facts on the case.

The footage shows half-naked troops from 3rd Battalion the Parachute Regiment in different areas of Merville Barracks, Colchester, Essex.

One salutes as his pal has sex with the red-headed woman.

It appears consensual — but the orgy has shocked top brass.

The Royal Military Police are investigating how the woman was smuggled in and if any orders were breached.

Slamming troops Mr Wallace said: “It makes me think the Army has still to move forward from 30 years ago.”

He added: “I’m deeply uneasy about eight men in a barracks like this with one woman, filming it.

“I’m uneasy because there are lots of issues. The massive power imbalance, even if it was consensual.”

Slamming the Army he said it “has a cultural issue to address.

“What does it say to to a future woman who wanted to join the Army?”

He also said there were security concerns that needed to be addressed given the woman was smuggled in.
