ANGUS Robertson is the SNP deputy leader who stood in for leader Nicola Sturgeon during the BBC Election debate.
But what do we know about Angus?
Who is Angus Robertson?
Robertson was born in Wimbledon, south west London, on September 28, 1969.
He is the son of a Scottish engineer dad and German nurse mum.
He was brought up in Edinburgh.
After leaving Broughton High School, Angus completed a MA Honours in Politics and International Relations at Aberdeen University before embarking on his journalistic career.
He worked as a foreign and diplomatic correspondent in central Europe for the BBC.
Robertson joined the Scottish National Party in 1984 aged 15 after reportedly being given a leaflet about the party by Charlie Reid of The Proclaimers.
The former journalist, 47, arrived at Westminster after being elected as an MP for Moray in north east Scotland in 2001.
Robertson was Scotland's youngest MP and was rated Scotland's "hardest working MP", according to statistics from the House of Commons.
He speaks fluent German and is Scottish Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and Westminster SNP spokesman on Defence and Europe.
Robertson was re-elected MP for Moray in May 2015 with 2,4387 votes, taking 49.5% of the vote.
When was Robertson appointed SNP's deputy leader?
He was appointed SNP deputy leader in October 2016, receiving 52.5% of the vote.
Fellow MP Tommy Sheppard received 25.53% of the vote, MEP Alyn Smith got 18.6% and Inverclyde councillor Chris McEleny got 3.3%.
Ahead of the 2017 General Election the Tories were set to take five more seats in Scotland.
Despite having just one MP north of the border currently, top Tories are confident they are on course to overturn Berwickshire’s 328 SNP majority in the borders.
On June 9 it was announced that Robertson’s Moray constituency has been lost to the Tories.
When was the BBC debate?
The Election Debate aired on BBC One live from Cambridge on May 31.
The show was moderated by BBC Radio 4’s Today presenter Mishal Husain.
