‘Lovely’ woman, 25, dies after being pulled from water near pier as man arrested
A “LOVELY” woman has died after she was pulled from the water near a pier.
Tributes have been paid to Charmaine O'Donnell whose body was recovered from the sea in Helensburgh, Scotland.
Cops have arrested a 28-year-old man following her death at 5.15pm yesterday.
RNLI crews were also scrambled to the scene in Argyll and Bute, Scotland.
Now detectives have confirmed that a 25-year-old woman's body was recovered.
Tributes have been paid to the young woman, named locally as Charmaine O'Donnell.
One mourner said: "Such a cruel world out there, I can't believe one of the sweetest girls has been taken like this!
"What a horrible world, rest easy Charmaine O'Donnell you'll definitely be missed by all."
While another posted: "Can’t believe the news that your gone you were a lovely girl!!"
Her family has been made aware of the tragedy.
Cops confirmed a man had been arrested in connection with the investigation and a probe was continuing.
Detective Superintendent Craig Willison said: "Around 5.15pm on Friday, 23 April, 2021, police were called to Helensburgh Pier on Colquhoun Street, Helensburgh, where it was reported a 25-year-old woman was in the water.

"A short time later, her body was recovered by the RNLI. Her family have been made aware and are being supported by officers.
"A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this investigation and enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding her death.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
