PAIGE Doherty’s aunt told how she still cries for the slain schoolgirl “every day and night”.
Distraught Sharon Bothwell, 44, revealed her agony exactly a year after her niece was slaughtered by monster John Leathem.
Sharon, of Tollcross, Glasgow, said: “This has been the hardest year of our lives. There’s not a day goes by that we don’t think about Paige. I cry every day and every night for her.
“Paige was a ray of sunshine, she lit up the room.
“Without her, we’re left in darkness. We are broken. We’re not the same and never will be again.
“She will never be forgotten.”
Her body was found two days later — the birthday of gran Roseanne, who turns 70 on Tuesday.
Sharon who will visit Paige’s grave with Roseanne this weekend before meeting relatives, said her mum would never enjoy the day again.
Dad-of-two Leathem, 32 butchered Paige in his deli in Clydebank, near Glasgow.
The beast inflicted almost 150 wounds in the frenzy.
He was caged for at least 27 years but appeal judges reduced his stretch to 23.
