Miracle dog Boris fell 95ft off a cliff while trying to do a wee – and survived with just bruises

MIRACLE pooch Boris fell 95ft off a clifftop when he went for a wee — and survived with barely a scratch.

The rescue Staffie nipped into a favourite bush near the ledge to relieve himself while out for walkies when the ground crumbled beneath his paws.

He dropped 20ft on to a narrow ledge — then lost his footing and plunged 75ft to the rocky shore.

But when horrified owner Barry Robison, 31, and fiancée Keara Watson rushed the dazed hound to the vet fearing the worst they were stunned to find he was just bruised.

Barry, of Aberdeenshire, Scotland, said: “The vet was as shocked as we were — it’s a miracle Boris is still here.

“He is a very bold character — he probably loved all the attention.”

The drama unfolded when Keara, 28, and her mum took him out near the couple’s home and he failed to reappear from the bush.

After searching in vain for him, Keara rang chef Barry who raced there from his kitchen.

He continued: “By the time I arrived they’d looked in most places we thought Boris might be. I went down to the beach to call for him when I saw the blue jumper we put on him when it’s cold.

“He had obviously fallen when he went into the gorse bush to pee and landed on the ledge.

“As I was yelling at him to stay put he fell again right in front of me. I threw myself to try to catch him but I was too late.

“It was awful. He landed between two rocks and was knocked out. I thought we’d lost him.”

Barry hauled the seven-year-old rescue hound up to his car and drove him to an emergency veterinary clinic.

A scan revealed a bruised abdomen and tail and Boris was allowed home the next day.

Housing association worker Keara said: “I think the bush had grown over the cliff edge and the ground just gave way. We won’t be back on that path for a while.”

Vets Now nursing boss Corrie Dean said: “Boris is an extremely lucky boy. To fall from that height and walk from the clinic is amazing.”
