Shocked residents tell of the terrifying moment Gordon Adams was shot dead with a crossbow in Dundee street

SHOCKED neighbours last night told of the terrifying moment a labourer was shot with a crossbow after a row at a party.

She said and stretchered bloodsoaked Gordon Adams, 23, from the block of flats in Dundee — but they were unable to save him.

The resident, who asked not to be named, said she dialled 999 after the disturbance, which is thought to have been sparked by a row over loud music.

She said: “There were bloodcurdling screams. I phoned the ambulance and they arrived quickly and brought out a man.

“He was naked and covered in blood on the stretcher.

“A young looking lad was taken away in cuffs.

“The thought of someone with a weapon like that scares me.”

Another neighbour said: “I was told there was an argument about music being too loud at a flat.

“Someone apparently went to complain and asked for it to be turned down but was shot with a crossbow.”

Mercy crews were called at around 11.50pm on Sunday and rushed Gordon, also known as Gordon Diduca, to hospital. He was later confirmed dead.

Medics treated another man at the scene for an arm injury.

Another witness said: “It sounded as if there was a party going on at one of the flats.

“The next thing, there were people in the street shouting about a crossbow and for someone to phone 999.

“The police were here quickly and sealed the whole street off.

“Paramedics brought a guy out and he and he was in a bad way. It was horrible.”

Call centre worker Michael Taylor, 23, said he heard a “couple of loud bangs” before cops arrived.

He said: “There was a man and he kept shouting that someone had been stabbed or shot with a crossbow.

“He was really upset and kept screaming about it. His friends were trying to calm him down.”

Forensic officers in white suits yesterday looked in bushes outside the block for clues while detectives questioned neighbours.

Blood could been seen smeared on the outside of the main door leading to the close.

Heartbroken , also known as Gogs, who they described as “a gentle giant”. It is understood his death comes just months after his mum Janice passed away aged 48 from lung cancer.

His niece told how the family have been rocked by the double tragedy on an internet fundraising page to help cover funeral costs.

She wrote: “Gordon Robert Diduca. Young and shot. Donations to our family that has lost our mum and brother in the space of four month. We really do need your help, thank you everyone.”

She added: “He was a young loyal man who just made you laugh. He did have a soft spot. RIP will be missed Gordon.”

His cousin Sandra Nicoll wrote on social media: “Would like to say RIP to my little cousin Gordon. He was a prankster, laughable, would help anyone if he could but he certainly didn’t deserve to be killed in the middle of a street.”

Gordon’s half-brother Ryan Diduca, 27, added: “Can’t believe it. Gone man. I’ll miss you loads bro. Take care up there. Love you loads.”

Shannon Coughlin said: “You will be well and truly missed. Never told you enough how much I appreciate you and how well you done for yourself. My heart goes out to all the family.”

Cops confirmed they were treating the death as “suspicious” but refused to confirm if anyone had been detained.

A spokesman said: “We are following a positive line of enquiry. No further details will be released until a formal ID takes place.”
