Teenage girl ‘attacked while out exercising’ in broad daylight as emergency services rush to scene
A TEENAGE girl has reportedly been attacked while exercising in broad daylight today.
According to Kilkenny People, the 17-year-old was walking on a road near Johnstown, Ireland when the incident happened.
It’s understood that the girl has been rushed to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
It is also understood the girl was out exercising when she was attacked.
Cops confirmed they responded to a report in Johnstown, Kilkenny, just before midday.
A spokesperson said: “An Garda Síochána are currently responding to a report in Johnstown, Co. , which occurred shortly before lunchtime.
“At this very early stage An Garda Síochána cannot confirm the exact nature of any alleged incident.”
They added: “An Garda Síochána will provide clarification as soon as we are able to do so.”
It comes after a man appeared in court accused of killing teacher Ashling Murphy, 23, while she was out running in Tullamore, Ireland.
Talented musician Ashling, who worked at Durrow National School, was running along a well-known route when she was allegedly targeted.
Emotional tributes flooded in after her death, with hundreds of mourners gathering for her funeral.
