Tory MP David Warburton in psychiatric hospital for ‘severe shock & stress’ after cocaine scandal pic, wife says
DISGRACED Tory MP David Warburton has been admitted to a psychiatric hospital days after being accused of sexual harassment and taking cocaine, according to his wife.
In a statement his wife said the MP for Somerton and Frome had severe shock and stress but had no further comment.
Mrs Warburton, who is the Conservative's communications manager, said: "David has today been admitted to a psychiatric hospital for severe shock and stress.
"No further comment to make."
Mr Warburton allegedly snorted "line after line" of cocaine before stripping naked and groping a woman’s breasts in her flat.
The married backbencher, 56, had the whip withdrawn and was then suspended from the Conservative Party after a string of claims about his conduct were made to the parliamentary harassment watchdog.

The MP sent the woman a message the next morning asking if she was proud an MP had slept in her home.
He added: "Promise I won’t remove all my clothes again."
The younger woman said she had warned Warburton repeatedly before and during his visit that she did not want to have sex with him.
But despite her protests, she claims Warburton ground his body against hers and groped her breasts as he climbed into her bed.

The dad of two reportedly said the sum paid for the drug was not expensive — using the slang “spenny” — and was “quite good actually”, according to an audio recording.
On Friday, Warburton, who volunteers as an organist at his local church, had the whip removed and was suspended from his party over the claims.
It means he can still vote, but not as a Tory MP.
Warburton and the woman had met through work and he invited himself to her flat, despite there being evidence that she had had too much to drink.
The woman also claims that she put on some pyjamas in the hope Warburton would get the hint that she was not interested.
But she claims he then stripped naked before getting into bed with her, saying he always slept without clothes on.
The woman said she was "frozen to the spot" until he fell asleep.
ALLEGATIONS
The next morning she claims he sent the messages asking if she felt pride at what had happened and promised not to take his clothes off again.
But the two have not met again since the incident on February 1.
The woman is yet to make any complaint to the police or any other investigating power saying she wants to forget about the incident.
But two female aides have decided to take action against him through the Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme.
They said they could not go through his Parliamentary office as HR issues are dealt with by his wife Harriet, who earns up to £51,000 a year from the taxpayers’ purse.
Both women accuse Warburton of unwanted sexual comments and sexual touching, and say that he kept coke at his London home.
Warburton has previously condemned the exploitation of young people involved in the sale of drugs and the “intimidation, violence and criminal incentives” they face.
He has also called for international action in “tackling the drugs trade”.
WARBURTON'S ROBUST DEFENCE
Fitness fan Warburton, who lost 8st in lockdown, last night said: “I have enormous amounts of defence, but unfortunately the way that things work means that doesn’t come out first.
"I have heard nothing whatsoever from the Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme. I’m sorry, I can’t comment any further."
He has been suspended from the Tory party as the probe was launched.
The complaint about the alleged inappropriate behaviours will be looked into by the Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme.
The powerful ICGS last month described ex-Commons Speaker John Bercow as a "serial bully" as part of a 89-page report.
Warburton said he would launch a robust defence and denied any wrongdoing.
A spokesperson on behalf of the Whips Office said: "David Warburton MP has had the Conservative Party whip removed while the investigation is ongoing."
It comes as MPs and campaigners told of their fury that a one-year time limit on making complaints comes into force this month.
