Murder probe launched after after 22-year-old shot dead in Croydon

A MURDER probe has been launched by police following a shooting in Croydon.
Police were called to Eastney Road at 11.30pm last night after a young man was fatally shot.
The 22-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers believe they know the identity of the victim however they are awaiting formal identification.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering a gunshot wound.
Firearms officers and London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene and a murder investigation has been launched.
No arrests have been made.
Tributes left at the scene of the shooting have identified the victim as Akeem, also known as Tuggzy.
DCI Lee Watling said: "I need to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Eastney Road area late on Friday night.
"I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with information that may assist the investigation, to call police and tell us what they saw or what they know."
One resident in the area told the there was a party going on at a house which seems to be the focus of the police investigation. She said that late last night she heard two gunshots.
She said: "All the women in the garden went from laughing to screaming."
Police have cordoned off the area of the crime scene while forensic officers continue to investigate.
