Despite the colder weather, the UK was blessed with largely sunny conditions as the Queen was laid to rest yesterday.

The recent cold snap is set to come to an end this week with clouds and rain replaced with clear skies in some areas of the UK according to the Met Office.

And the national weather service predicts Brits in London will bask in some glorious weather with a maximum temperature of 22C on Wednesday.

A Met Office forecast said: ";Early mist and fog patches soon clearing to leave a dry day with variable amounts of cloud and some sunny spells.

"Feeling warmer again compared to Tuesday, with light winds."

And London won't be the only area enjoying great weather and beautiful clear skies tomorrow.

Wednesday is predicted by the national weather agency to bring sunny climes especially in the south and the south-east.

Southampton, Peterborough and Norwich are some of the other areas predicted to see temperatures hitting 20C according to the Met Office.

There will be "light winds" which will leave people feeling warm and "variable cloud along with some bright and sunny spells."

Unfortunately those in north-western areas of the UK, particularly northwest Scotland, will see rain continue on Wednesday.

According to the Met Office, today's weather will not hit the highs of Wednesday but will see many places enjoy dry conditions after patchy fog clears.

Brits will see early mist and fog patches to leave a dry day, with variable amounts of cloud and bright or sunny spells.

But the weather service does add that some areas may see "just an isolated light shower".
