His victim, also a lifer, had been jailed for killing his three-year-old daughter and attempting to murder his nine-year-old son.

Former hitman Castigador, known as the 'Killer from Manila', targeted Teixeria after branding him a "wet dog" and vowing to "murder that bastard."

After bludgeoning him to death, Castigador told guards at Long Lartin jail near Evesham,Worcs: "He p*ssed me off, he deserved what he had."

He then bragged: "I'm never getting out, I have nothing to lose. He won't need an ambulance, he's dead."

Castigador was given a full life term in 1989 for tying up and setting fire to two security guards in central London which became known as the "human torch murders."

He is one of around 50 "whole life" tariff cons in British jails who will never be freed.

Castigador initially denied murder but changed his plea to guilty on the first day of his trial at Worcester Crown Court last month.

Sentencing him to a second whole life sentence at Birmingham Crown Court, The Honourable Justice Haddon-Cave said: "You attacked Mr Teixeira with an improvised weapon.

"You armed yourself intending to attack Mr Teixeira.

"This was a brutal, savage, merciless and unprovoked attack.

"You repeatedly struck Mr Teixeira over the head and upper body with a great deal of force.

"This shocking attack was witnessed by a number of inmates, a prison officer and a workshop supervisor.

";The prison officer intervened and you desisted.

"By then you had unfortunately done fatal damage to your victim.

"For several days prior to the attack, you told several prison officers and workshop supervisor that you intended to kill Mr Teixeira.

"You said he had 'got what he deserved'. You said he was 'a horrible man and a bully'.

"What do you think you are?

"You sought to justify your actions to say Mr Teixeira was serving a life sentence for murdering his children.

"You seem to think that you are something of an enforcer as you said it was 'your job'.

"You are wrong. It is not your job, or right, to judge others or pass moral judgements in others.

"It is not your job to punish others. It is a terrible, terrible thing to take another life.

"You have now been convicted of three murders in this country.

";The prison officers should not have had to deal with or witness this sort of terrible offence.

"You should try and live out the rest of your sentence with dignity. Every human life has value, even yours.

"I sentence you to a further whole life term of imprisonment.

"You will spend the rest of your natural life in prison with no prospect of ever being released."

After being sentenced, Castigador addressed the judge, and said: "People are taking the p*ss out of me. I'm sorry Your Honour, but thank you very much."
