Boy, 12, rushed to hospital after being hit by a Royal Mail van in London

A 12-YEAR-OLD-BOY is in hospital after he was hit by a Royal Mail truck in central London.

Police and paramedics were called to the crash which took place near Holborn Tube station on Saturday afternoon.

The accident happened in Southampton Place at about 3pm and the boy was rushed to hospital.

His injuries are described as not life-threatening and his next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made.
