Moment brazen seagull swoops to snatch a little girl’s ice cream in Scottish town plagued by cone thieves

A BRAZEN seagull snatches a little girl’s ice cream in a seaside town plagued by flying cone thieves.

The squawking thug scoffed it next to the shocked youngster following the stealth attack.

The bird is one of a gang of five greedy fiends targeting customers leaving Giulianotti’s in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, with their ice creams.

The girl’s mum said: “I thought it was going for her — I got a huge shock.”

During our watch outside the store we also saw a gull relieve a woman of her cone — laying a talon on her shoulder as it swooped in from behind.

The shop’s owner, who didn’t want to be named, said: “They usually swoop for food when they have chicks, but they’ve started earlier this year.

“I’m warning everyone who comes in to be on their guard.”

Our man tempted the gulls by strolling around with two cones — but they bottled it when a hawk was brought in to scare them off.

Stonehaven isn’t the only place menaced by winged raiders.
