Biden bizarrely boasts about ‘sleeping with a teacher’s union member every night’ as he makes crude joke about wife Jill
IN his Labor Day remarks at the White House on Wednesday, President Joe Biden titillated the crowd with a cheeky joke about “sleeping with” a union member.
Biden was referring to , a teacher and member of the National Education Association.
“I sleep with a NEA member every night,” Biden joked to applause and laughter.
He clarified that he sleeps with the “same one,” and not a string of different teachers, building on the awkward remark.
On Tuesday, the first lady returned to her classroom at the , campus of Northern Virginia Community College.
Jill Biden has taught at the college for 12 years, and spent much of the last year teaching remotely.
Biden about his longtime passion for unions, and walking through union-focused legislation he hopes to pass in the future.
Turning serious after his off-color remark, Biden spoke plainly about the power of unions.

“Workers who join unions gain power. In a simple word, a union means there is a democracy,” he said.
Biden concluded his speech by walking into the crowd to greet guests.
He joked about breaking protocol, saying "I‘m supposed to stop and walk out of the room here," as he closed his remarks. "But with your permission, I'm going to walk into the room because I want to say hello to all of you."
President Biden made the Labor Day remarks following visits to New York and New Jersey on Tuesday, where he assessed damage from Hurricane Ida.
On September 9, Biden will deliver remarks about Covid's delta variant and measures to prevent spread.
"On Thursday the president will speak to the American people about his robust plan to stop the spread of the delta variant and boost vaccinations," White House press secretary Jen Psaki said.
