Rift between two princes may never heal as ‘it’s impossible for William to ‘trust’ Harry after Oprah chat’, pals fear

THE divide between Prince Harry and his brother may never be fixed as William finds it "impossible to trust him again" following his bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, pals fear.

Despite reuniting and standing shoulder-to-shoulder yesterday to unveil a statue of their mother, Princess Diana, those close to the royals believe their rift may never be healed.

The brothers came face to face at Kensington Palace yesterday - on what would have been Di's 60th birthday - for the first time since Prince Philip's funeral in April.

It appeared the siblings had put aside their differences to honour Diana - although Harry reportedly left 20 minutes after sharing a glass of bubbly after the event.

And insiders fear their shattered bond may never be fixed as the younger prince was pictured driving to the airport today following his brief meeting with William.

A source close to the pair told : "On the one hand you have Diana’s family, as well as members of the royal family, who will be holding on to any crumb of hope that the two brothers will repair their relationship and on the other some definitely feel the damage is done and it is almost impossible for Harry to be trusted again.”

The warring brothers are still feuding after Harry's tell-all chat with Oprah, in which he and wife Meghan made a series of shocking allegations.

The most damaging accusation of all was that an unnamed member of the Royal Family had made a racist comment about the colour of son Archie's skin.

The Duchess of Sussex also said she was prevented from seeking mental health support when she was in crisis, adding that she even felt suicidal while pregnant with Archie.

Despite the fallout from the interview, the brothers appeared close on Thursday afternoon - raising the hopes of millions that their feud may now be behind them.

The pair entered the Sunken Garden together, with Harry clapping his hands in anticipation as they approached the statue.

They were welcomed by Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, their former private secretary, who is godfather to Prince George.

Both held the green curtain draped over the memorial and William asked "ready?" before they pulled it off in sync to reveal the touching artwork.

But just 20 minutes after sharing a bottle of bubbly with his brother, Harry was pictured driving out of Kensington Palace in a Range Rover.

Another source close to the brothers claims Harry is still an "outsider" as things are "still too raw" for William.

"Despite William and Harry coming together this week for the sole cause of commemorating their mother’s legacy, Harry is very much on the outside," the insider told the Mirror.

“They put on a show, did what they had to do to make sure the day went without a hitch and said goodbye.

"It was nothing more, there was nothing to discuss. Things are still far too raw for William and other members of the family to entertain Harry, so it's best to let things lie for the moment.”
